Crazy hot today taking it pretty easy. 4 cuts wipe sweat repeat. This old girl runs like a charm still. It literally runs like a new saw. Sits there patiently idling away oiling like a champ.
I really like a impulse driven oiler for that. It's a pre oiled chain every time ya pick it up again
So I have a Poulan 2250 with AV that I’ve torn down and I’m fixing everything wrong with it and will be porting it. I got that one off of OfferUp a couple of months ago. Last weekend I won an eBay auction on a 2075 without AV that should be here in a few days. It needs even more help than the 2250. Today I won another auction on eBay for a 2550 with AV that seems to be in pretty good shape. I think it needs a good cleaning and a carb kit. Maybe air filter, fuel lines and a fuel filter. I don’t know what my obsession is with these little cheap saws, but I like them. I will probably end up porting all three of them.

IMO go for the quad port 50mm PP445 or the 54mm singles PP505. Both updated.
475 the less desirable version IMHO. Owned them all several times.
PP425 48mm updated version of 415 with quads too.
I’d jump on anything that popped up locally really. Thanks for the tip in the 445. I remember seeing that somewhere.
I've sent runners and parts up to BC over the years. So I know it is hard stuff to find up there.
Pricey shipping wise too and then they hit you for duty on a used saw. Which I think is BS.
@3000 FPS owns that middle 505 in my pic now. He has a nice stable of runners.

Yea we get hosed up here, same goes for eBay or anything else. Pretty use to it by now, after exchange and duty it’s just about double from what posted price is.

If I recall right 300 USD saw. 100+ shipping USD and then they hit them for around 60 CAN for duty.
I mailed a 12oz package other day for these with some parts north of me in ONT. 24 USD 1st class and 32 USD Priority.
Pulled this muffler off my 4200 and replaced it with an unmodded one. What a hack job.

Bout the only decent factory muffler that breathes. Could be welded up and painted if a guy wanted.
Yeah I like to think it was a factory modded muffler. Seems to be everyone copies that design ever since
@Todd Loosli had brought this up in past about the 45 degree outlet muffler and then 90 degree outlet. 90 later for those places that had to have chain brakes so wouldnt mess with them was the guess.

Any one wanna trade this 5200 cover for a green 4200 top? My currant green cover has the front hold down bolt hole ear broken.
I’ve never seen the 90 degree mufflers. Not a lot of the big countervibes here it seems.
You see 8500 or the 3rd generations 6900 7700 ones up there?
@Todd Loosli you recall I cant if any 2nd Gens had 90 degree?
Only one that has them is the last with a chain brake.

Neither one had chain brake and Gen3 8500. But was a option.
Now I wonder about the Canada saws in Gen 1 and Gen 2 with chain brakes if they had a 90.
