Hello, I need help.
I have an old echo cs60s that hadn't started for 20 years and I've rebuilt the carburetor.
I want to know the idle speed and the high speed for this chainsaw.
I've set the idle speed and the motor turn at 1200rpm. Is it normal ?
Hopping you'll understand me (I don't speak english very well because I'm french ) and help me.
Have a nice day

Initial setting of idle mixture screw (L) is one turn open and high speed mixture screw (H) is one turn open. Make final adjustments with engine warm and running. Adjust idle speed screw so engine idles just below clutch engagement speed. Adjust idle mixture screw so engine will accelerate without stumbling. Adjust high speed mixture screw to obtain optimum performance with saw under a cutting load. Do not adjust mixture screws too lean as engine damage may result.
Idle speed 2200-2700rpm - just under clutch engagement
High speed 5500-8500 rpm under load. They didn't give a no-load rpm.
Attached is a service manual for the cs-60s

Hello
Firstly thanks for your answer
The thing is if I put the idle at 2200 rpm the chain turn really fast. Perhaps the clutch have a problem?
Yesterday I cleaned the clutch system with brake cleaner.
The only problem I have is that the clutch isn't the good model for it. Mine is an oregon one with replaceable pinion.
I put there some photos to help you

on the third you can see that it seems to have a problem because the back of the piece is different.
With the serial number can you tell me how old is my chainsaw?
I have a sort of muffler issue. something lixe burned oil escape from it and spray out on the starter system and below the muffler
On the last you can see the model of the oregon clutch : 16208

Clean the clutch shoe surfaces with sandpaper to remove galling and high spots, it has been very hot and its spring is likely damaged. Replace the clutch spring, is the clutch drum worn? does t have a lip or groove from wear? if it does then replace it. Clutch shoes that have been overheated may apply unevenly and slip during regular use.

I've found the problem, one of the spring is broken. The question is : how can I replace it ?
You can see the spring on the photo that I've attached.

Do I need to change all the clutch system or I can just keep the old and change the spring ?
