My P100 Super doesn't have the plate so I thought it was before 1982.
This is the serial number, do you know what year it could be?
on mine I found date 81 on the inside of the clutch cover, above the fuel filler

Yesterday I was sorting through saws in my garage & came across an R16 that I picked up about a yr.ago.Last yr.I couldn't get it to fire at all & when I checked it for spark it didn't show any.I saw the plug wire was off the plug,so I reconnected it & figured I'd trty it again.I gave it a prime & not only did it fire,it kept running on the fuel that I'd put in it last yr.I shut the saw down & put oil in the oil tank to see if it'd oil.I tried starting it & it wouldn't start till I wiggled the plug wire, then it fired right back up again & the oiler seems to be working just fine. When I fired up the saw the 2nd time I ended up with the pull rope in my hand.I have another R16 in my shed that I fiddled with about the same time last yr.,so I'll swap the coil out of that saw along with the recoiol & possibly the clutch cover too.

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a IPL for a R440? I just got this one and it runs great. However the chain spins when you pull it over. If you loosen the clutch, the sprocket spins free. Someone was in this saw as it has no washers in the clutch/sprocket area. Does anyone know what I need? Thanks. 20230823_165238.jpg

I haven’t had mine apart in years, but here is a pic of the IPL. Just an FYI, that hole in the crank allows fuel mix from the crankcase to lubricate the needle bearing. Interesting design.

I have a Pro Mac 1000 and the saw ran great the last time I used it about 6 years ago. I wanted to get it running again, I rebuilt the carb, new fuel line, fuel filter and fresh gas & mix. Saw fired up and ran great. Fresh bar oil in the tank, but no oil on the bar, not even with the manual oiler. Took the bar & chain off, dumped the bar oil out and put some mixed gas in and shook it around and dumped it out. Put Husky bar oil in tank, started saw and still no change.
Any suggestions? Thank you.

Some oils dry out after long periods of disuse

you could try blasting compressed air down the bar side oil outlet you would need to remove the oil cap, best to do in a warm environment like nice hot kitchen with a warm saw to help thin the oil. may be the pump is gummed up or has rotten o rings ? if my memory serves me right the manual pump has one way check valves like the pump side of a carb which can also have a tendency to stick with old oil? its a while since I've been into one but i did have success stripping and cleaning the manual pump on a vintage r35 but i had no success to date with auto oiler on it as i think the worm drive may be worn out which i believe was quite a common problem ? you will need to remove the bucking spike to strip the manual oiler if memory serves me right ? and that should get you going to cutting something .

It has been a long while since I had a similar problem on a P100. I can’t recall if it was just the manual or both pumps not working. IIRC, the manual oiler was dry. There is a steel “diaphragm” sandwiched between the cover and pump body with semi-circular checks cut into it. I cleaned and reassembled it making sure the diaphragm was wet with oil.

magoo75 or anyone else. In magoo75's post # 2681, what are the 3 screws for in the pic?

Thanks again.

Just picked this little guy up off of Ebay. Paid almost as much in shipping as I did the saw....
1975 P50. 50cc, 42mm x 36mm, complete with heated handles. The recoil is a very poor design, but the saw itself is actually quite interesting. It runs quite well as well for a saw I haven't changed a single part on.

runs without a string 😉🙆‍♂️

I believe this is my first Partner saw. Are these desirable at all? Don’t really see much for sale except for one with heated grips for big bucks on eBay. Nice saw except for the strange fuel plug.
