Today the starter rope broke on my 3071 Pioneer. I removed the recoil housing, nylon pawl and round steel plate by removing three screws. The rope is held in place by weaving it in a channel on the flywheel. My question is how the heck do I replace it? It seems I need to somehow tension the recoil spring, weave in the new rope, then replace the steel plate. I'm obviously not doing something right as I can't figure out how to keep the spring tensioned while trying to reattach the steel plate. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out or point me to a guide. Thanks in advance.
