Just rediscovered my skil 1661 which I believe is equivalent to the PM 177. Bought it in march of 2014.
Thinking of maybe selling it. What would it sell for? Doesn’t look much used. Haven’t started it in 6-7 years. Just liked hearing it.

haven't started it in years so first i got to do that. then need to upload some photos
don't know what it'll bring. what's it worth to you?

I've been working on saws for couple of decades and have rebuilt numerous carbs but I'm stumped on this. Can someone give me a hint on the best way to get the carb off a skil 1661 (PM 177)? Almost looks like I would need to remove rear handle.

Exciting day... I got a box of parts today for my 270, including an NOS muffler assembly, which I have been trying to track down for years.
I have a dumb question...I got a NOS muffler gasket, it is very clearly concave one side, and bulged out convex on the other side. Before I install it, does it go on a specific way??? I've read bulged/convex side toward muffler.

Many Thanks!!

I'm thinking of selling my SkilSaw 1631, same as PM model 340. I'm with Jerry, I don't feel like pulling it apart to get to the carb. When I put it on the shelf it ran great. It's been sitting 5-6 years. I pulled it off the shelf and primed the carb and it fires up instantly. Did that 3-4 times and it fired each time. Put some mix in the tank and primed 3-4 more times. Doesn't look like it wants to draw from the tank now. I'll try priming and maybe it will start drawing from the tank. But, it is a 69CC saw with no decomp, and I'm getting old. I'd like to get $150 plus shipping if anyone is interested, Joe.

I have the sponge rubber airbox seal and flock filter, forgot to take a pic of them.

I have a 177 apart waiting on seals. Does anyone know it there is something missing from the primer? Seems like there should be some sort of cup seal on the plunger.

I'm also missing the button for the oiler, does anyone have and IPL or a photo of a saw so I can see what they look like and how they are held in place?

Thanks,

Mark

There was also a return spring missing along with the oiler button. I may have to make a button but I'm waiting on some photos of the button and retainer. Jay Hansen has promised photos once he returns home. In a mock up on the bench both the primer and the oiler appear to be working.

That IPL is absolutely fantastic Ray, thanks again.
