Rakers for milling

I like the ideas of precision in the garage and by feel at the tree. So, did what Bob and JD suggested. Filed a little more hook on the teeth and filed down the rakers. It cuts much better. Went into 24” frozen poplar and busted the chain tensioner nut! (Probably didn’t tighten bar nuts enough) After the new nut, went through some 24-26” frozen American beech like it was nothing. Finally “felt” right!! Thanks guys! Pics from today.

Haven't seen this yet - I was always told to run that saw full throttle to ensure adequate mix to the engine and air flow from the fan for proper lube and cooling.
Yeah, i was just trying to say that it cut the same between half and full throttle- like I wasn’t getting all of the power from the saw. I still ran full even though it didn’t make any difference in the cut
