Feel free to not answer if you don't want it public, but I'm curious what a typical rebuild runs, $ wise. Something to keep in mind for the future.

Cylinder and piston cleaned up with a scotch Brite ball.

New parts that I had to order, ready for assembly.

New base gasket and caber ring, piston, ring and pin bearing oiled up. Not pictured but I oil the cylinder too before assembly.

Cylinder mounted, new spark plug, decomp, muffler mounted, clutch and whatnot back on, bearing greased and ready to go.

Flywheel back on along with coil and recoil.
New fuel line and filter also installed. I'm still waiting on the carb kit but that's it. I have about an honest hour of work into this so far.

Great John! Thanks very much for the updates and great pics! Looks like new!

Good Morning John,
I forgot to mention, could you please check the vent on the gas tank, as it has been leaking when the saw is set on its' side. Doesn't happen all the time, but very much an issue when it does. Thanks!

It's pretty common for these to leak out of the tank vent during fill up but I will definitely check it out and replace it if needed.

The 630 is more like a 162 in red than a 266, but is closer to a 266 than a 625 or 670 in design. All are the same chassis, so there are lots of similarities, and lots will interchange; but only the 630 and 162 shared a cylinder for the same displacement in both colours.
The 625 and 670 used an intake boot vs all the Huskies and the 630 using a block.

Isn’t the jred 630 a discontinued Husqvarna? I remember talking to my dealer about one.
