Filter fixes for hard to find remington filters. Be sure to keep a edge tag on because that is how the filter is attached to the screen. Looka like an almost exact fit for pl4/pl5 and maybe others. Also good for 660/754. Put between carb and filter adapter for extra protection when you don't have the correct filter. Not sure if it helps anyone. But it's something to consider. Make sure screen is on carb side so the filter or any filter material doesn't get sucked into carb or saw. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

So I was looking around on mikeacresinternet. Says pl4 9500 rpm free speed and pl5 6500 rpm free speed. Is this accurate? 3000 rpm is alot. Only 5-6cc difference between saws. Any thoughts guys?

Not every thing is accurate on the site and hasn't been updated for a long time. When investigating something like this it's best to get a second source. Some of the McCulloch information is not right also.

Thanks i was reading your post in another thread about saw prices back in the day. I have a remington book that told the prices I bought off ebay.
Sl9 199
Pl4 199
Pl5 239
Pl6 299
754 169
Crazy the 754 was the cheapest!
I relate the the remingtons to my echos pl4 = cs-400 super 754 = cs-590. And buying a saw for 200$ in 1965 that was big time $ like stihl $ today.
I just looked in my book and saws are rated at chain feet per minute.

I've been noticing that also still some good info on them i know I've been wearing them out haha

Dang Ezra, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm going north to make a couple videos maybe a couple 18-20" popple cookies and a oak on ice cut up compilation with pl4 and either 660 or 754 not sure which one yet on the big bore. There's alot more ice now than in the pic. Wind took it out as it was already split and in rough shape. Hope you feel better soon buddy. That covid crap is a pain in the @$$ to say the least. Keep us posted on your recovery.

As deep as your diving into the Remington saws, you'll be helping people get theirs straightened out soon!

Hey guys, looks like the Remington thread is the now the @Maintenance supervisor, @Woodslasher,
@Ezra, and
@Brufab thread anymore :hi:
Can't believe we're the only guys out there messing with these saws.
I have a Log Master but it is a shelf queen and a couple Wards saws that I think are Remington made saws. I have run the Wards 5.0 and it is a very strong saw.

Gonna run my pl5 and super 660 tomarrow to see how they do. I bought a wards/sl9 for the wife last week she was excited and we called it the bumblebee saw long story short thing was toasted. Any pics? I'm curious on the Wards saw. Thanks!
