Thanks, but this is the older model. I have the ipl for it, but it's not detailed enough. I can't figure out where this tiny spring goes, and the brakeband will not stay open no matter what I do, so I can' fit the cover on the saw.

Have you figured this out yet? I had the same problem on my 111 and apparently got it installed correctly as the brake works perfectly. Will send photos if needed.

This is a bit out there, but here goes...in 1975 Sachs Dolmar produced the KMS4 equipped with a Wankel rotary engine. When mine arrived a few years ago, it was missing the hand guard like a few others I have seen.

Here is a photo of a saw with the hand guard.

Last week someone passed by with a very nice example of the KMS4 complete with the hand guard. Since the saw was going to be in the area for a while I borrowed the hand guard and passed it along to my engineer friend to create a drawing so I could make some parts with the 3D printer.

The original on my saw.

The 3D printed part in natural PLA material.

I am currently printing a few in ABS but once I know the parameters for the printed parts are O.K. I will produce them in a different material (Polymaker) that is stronger, tougher, and a bit more heat resistant. For the few of you out there with a KMS4 and no hand guard, I can help you with that.

Hello all, I am in the middle of rebuilding a 133 Sachs Dolmar. It seems it is a early model with both bearings being the 6203-c4 ball bearing. I won't be using the saw very much but I was wondering if I should upgrade to the roller bearing on the clutch side like the later models?

I think someone installed the 6203 c4. Every 133 I have seen had the c3 bearings . As for running Nj203 roller bearings on a saw that will see little use , is a waste of $$. does this saw have a 2 piece crankshaft or the 3 piece crankshaft

I have a Makita DCS6401 that I replaced the coil on. It starts and runs but misses bad when I rev. Rebuilt the carb, checked the gaps, new plug, fresh gas but it just won’t rev. The A/M coil I bought said it works in a Dolmar 6401 and others but only lists Makita 6400&7900. It seems like the timing is advanced to me. Could there be a timing difference from a M6400&M6401? Box says it replaces the 038143041 which I think is the OEM unlimited coil. Asking for input before I break down and go OEM.
BTW, I didn’t remove the welsh plug I just blew everything out with carb cleaner and compressed air.

Picked this up about a week ago. Original owner saw bought new in 1979. Gave it a check over, put gas in, had good spark, good compression, poured a little gas in carb, on first pull it mumbled, third pull it yelled loudly!! Lol!! Great saw! Cut about 2 face cord before arms were a little tired! Lol! Got a 30" bar for an 088 and enlarged adjuster hole and ground channel for oiler. I know, cheap bar, what I could find and I'm not gonna run it professionally every day and, it's MINE!!! Lol!

Hi Guys,

I got given a fairly clean Dolmar 6800 the other day that needs a top end rebuild. I have ordered a Meteor piston and Caber ring kit for it but I need a cylinder gasket and needle cage bearing. They seem to be hard to find over here in Australia. Does anyone have any contacts that might carry these parts ?

Gasket: 965 517 131
Needle Cage : 962 210 015

Regards

Justin

Made some progress on my poulan 5500. Got the broken case half swapped out and saw partially back together.

I am in need of a set of crank seals. Does anyone know where I can source them? The bearings were in good shape. I cleaned them really good and oiled then up and back in they went.
