Stihl 029 (and other?) Piston ring clamping strap/compressor

Hey everyone

Got myself a Stihl 029, needing to fit new piston rings and piston etc.

Struggling a little, it needs a clamping strap, Clamping strap stihl nr. 1127 893 2600, but I don't have that.

Anyone got a good "DIY" tool for this?
See picture for how it looks.

ah, doing some research on the site here, using zip-tie or gently pushing the rings with a small screwdriver.

Guess I will give it a go, still open to clever ideas though! :numberone: :cheers:
 
One of these cheap sets should do to start with:

Don't use the piston stops - stuff starter cord down the plug hole instead.
Yeah I actually have that set, but these won't fit into the 029 cylinder. But thanks for the reply! :bowdown:

They did not make the 029 cylinder as the 025, that compress the rings by itself, in the buttom of the cylinder.

Anyhow, I just used the "screwdriver" method, worked perfectly fine.
