In June, 2021 I fully rebuilt a Stihl 034 super and it’s basically a brand new saw with only one problem. One of the splines on the flywheel is damaged and every time the pawls catch on that spline it either sheers the pawl, kicks back and leaves my hand in bits, or the pawl, washer and clip all come off the starter. I put the double pawls on it to see if it would solve the problem and it never did. I looked to see if the flywheel on the Stihl 034’s are the same as the super and they aren’t. My flywheel’s part number is 1125 400 1200. So basically does anyone know a solution to my problem or if a Stihl 034 flywheel works on the super or not ?

If you originally bought the saw the recoil might be original, are you sure you don't have a regular pull start on a super?
See it’s not the starter that’s the problem it’s the corner gone off one of the splines on the flywheel that’s interfering with the starter mechanism.
