Hello Arborists,

I have a Stihl 041AV Super Electronic that was purchased new back in the 70's? by my father and we have had it ever since. it has all the original tools and owners manuals in near new condition as well as extra chains.

I just had it tuned up and runs great. See photos. It was always used sparingly for his own camp firewood. After he passed it on to me, I have seldom used it.

Can anybody tell me what this saw might be worth? We would like to sell it.

Thank you,

Chris

I have been selling high condition 041's for many years. I got 550-650 for the last two supers. The 650 saw had the original 24" bar with the orange letters. Both saws were immaculate and ran like new. I typically sell these locally and they do well. There's a nice 041 FB on my bench right now.

Sold my last 041 Super w/36" solid nose bar for $200 locally. It was extra clean.
*** Keep in mind, all of these big older Stihl's have the Bosche or SEM or whatever ignition system which everyone frets over.
You'll be asked if it's been "Foggy'd" which references the electrical modification a previous member engineered to address the ignition issue's.

All depends on region. I sold this one for $350 here locally in the PNW & felt it was a fair price for both parties involved.
