Hey everyone. Im looking at upgrading my 361 oil pump. I know the 046 oil pump will fit the 361 but i may have access to quite a few 044 pumps. Was just wondering if anyone has tried to do the swap before?

What is wrong with your 361 oil pump?
Buy the bolt from a 461R oil pump and that's all you'll need.
My oil pump currently isn’t working at all. If i swap out the bolt will that generally fix it?

Pump is probably full of sawdust. Stihl's oil pumps do that. Disassemble and clean.
It’s not pumping. I just tore it all apart cleared all the lines and everything is clear. Still won’t pump.
So pull the bolt and everything? Or just clean out the actual housing and lines and everything? I just cleaned out all the lines with air as well as did what i could with the pump. Didn’t help the issue.

Make sure pump doesn’t already have the 1128 PN on it. Some 361 came with the standard 046 pump from the factory. Others with the 1135 pump.
Have you got the service manual? it’s very clear and takes you through point by point.

Yes. That is called disassembling the pump. You will likely have to drive out a small roll pin to remove the adjusting bolt and free the pump piston.
Silly question ...but have you checked the worm gear and spring length ? The "hook" that connects the gear to the sprocket and in turn "TO" the oiler. I've found most "oiler" problems were never the "oiler" itself
