I am selling the powerhead for my Stihl 084, it runs but needs some work. I purchased this saw through this forum about 7 years ago and have used it for chainsaw milling on and off since then. It has served me very well but I am finding it harder to find parts and have sold quite a few slabs lately so am treating myself and have a brand spanking new 881 waiting for me at the saw shop in town. This 084 runs fine, I just milled two 8 foot, ~30" diameter birch logs with it a few weeks ago. However, it doesn't idle well and the kill switch stopped working (not an issue for me since it dies when idling if I am not feathering the throttle). I am not a great saw mechanic, I'd rather spend my time milling or planing slabs. I could take it to the shop but I am to the point where I'd rather get the new saw and pass this old boy along to someone else.

Last fall the muffler disintegrated, I had trouble finding a NOS muffler so I bought one of these and installed it: https://www.chainsawpartsworld.com/product/stihl-084-muffler-assembly-with-all-bolts-modified/ I have approximately 10 hours on it. Seems to work fine.

This powerhead is also set up with a maxflow filter and I'll include 4 filters with the sale as well as the old filter mount and associated parts. The felling dogs are removed, but are included in this sale. I don't think I have all of the bolts and nuts needed to attach them, I haven't ever used them since I only used this saw for milling.

Message me with any questions or post in this thread. I am located near Mount Vernon, Washington. About 50 miles north of Seattle. Any interested local parties are welcome to come and see the powerhead and/or pick up in person to save shipping. My plan is to agree on a sale price and have the purchaser pay for shipping and any desired shipping insurance.
