One of my mates has one and I sometimes sharpen his chains. He has been using it regularly as a general pruning and firewood saw for about 50 years.
Imn terms of milling, 08Ss are 48 - 56 cc depending on year of manufacture and with a max rpm of 7000 its not going too be a fast cutter but these are tough saws so will last a long time and with a bit of care will easily stand up tp milling small logs.
To use as a small milling saw I would see if you can up the drive sprocket size and drop the rakers a bit more tham usual.
