I need to convert a MS270 from .325" to 3/8" pitch and am having trouble verifying which clutch and sprocket I should get.

It seems either or both of the following parts might be correct but I can not tell what the difference is between them.
1121 007 1035
1121 007 1040
Both are rim drive sprocket kits that seem to fit the MS270, does anyone know the difference and which one (or both) is correct?

The saw currently has a spur drive sprocket and a replacement 3/8" spur drive would be slightly preferred but I cannot find any that appear to fit.
Anyone know of one?

I realize 3/8" pitch is not ideal for this displacement but, this is a low usage saw (hence spur drive is fine) that is carried on fire apparatus with an older 036 saw, both have 20" bars. The 036 saw, and all the spares (bar, chains) are 20" 3/8" pitch. I want to convert the MS270 to 3/8" pitch so that all the spares are interchangeable between both saws. As it is now, someone not very familiar with saws might try to use the 3/8" spares on the .325 saw and I want prevent this from happening. All our other apparatus with multiple saws share spare bars and chains (e.g. 026 and 028 supper both setup for 16" .325 bar & chain on our Mini Pumper).

Thanks for the help!

There actually is no rim sprocket listed for the 270, only the 280 is listed for the rim sprocket conversion kit, which is this one:

1121 007 1041 1 Rim sprocket kit 3/8" 7T

The ones you listed (1035 & 1040) are for 024/026/MS 240/MS 260 I think.

Not sure why the 1041 is not listed for the 270, but I guess it'll fit on the 270 as well.

Thanks guys!

That was a typo on my part, it should have been 1035 and 1041 (not 1040).

From what I could find they were the same size but had some difference in the way the oil pump drive works. Looks like the 1041 is the way to go.

Yes, 1041 is the correct one for 1133 type (MS 270 & MS 280) saws.

Found the 1035, says it is 7-tooth, so guessing the 1040 is 8-tooth; stay w/ the 7-tooth, leave the 8 for the sportsters?
