I need to convert a MS270 from .325" to 3/8" pitch and am having trouble verifying which clutch and sprocket I should get.
It seems either or both of the following parts might be correct but I can not tell what the difference is between them.
1121 007 1035
1121 007 1040
Both are rim drive sprocket kits that seem to fit the MS270, does anyone know the difference and which one (or both) is correct?
The saw currently has a spur drive sprocket and a replacement 3/8" spur drive would be slightly preferred but I cannot find any that appear to fit.
Anyone know of one?
I realize 3/8" pitch is not ideal for this displacement but, this is a low usage saw (hence spur drive is fine) that is carried on fire apparatus with an older 036 saw, both have 20" bars. The 036 saw, and all the spares (bar, chains) are 20" 3/8" pitch. I want to convert the MS270 to 3/8" pitch so that all the spares are interchangeable between both saws. As it is now, someone not very familiar with saws might try to use the 3/8" spares on the .325 saw and I want prevent this from happening. All our other apparatus with multiple saws share spare bars and chains (e.g. 026 and 028 supper both setup for 16" .325 bar & chain on our Mini Pumper).
Thanks for the help!
