The saw is buggered but what interests me is that the piston appears to have taken out the stuffer which is on the intake side, and I have one of these earlier models.
Gman might be right about the cause being a badly blocked air filter. It's Mtronic, wouldn't it keep leaning out to compensate? While still trying to get to 13.5 k?
Something might have got hot but anyway I'll be paying attention to the filter on mine
 
When an air filter is blocked, the air has to get in other ways. Right through the seals is common. Any computerized setup can only compensate so much, the it is past it's limits. Yep, you HAVE to clean the air filter on a saw.
 
This looks exactly like the one I got cheap of someone , was rough as guts ... looked like the guy been cutting saw dust while it was raining.

Sent it to the stihl dealership and hopefully get an insurance job on it lol.
