Stripped the spark plug hole in an old beauty.

I have a Homelite Super 2 that gets a lot of use around the homestead as a limbing saw. I pulled the spark plug to have a look, and the threads are pretty banged up. Now when I screw in the spark plug, it won't stay tight and jiggles around like a bag full of smarties. Surprisingly enough the saw still starts and the compression is good. I did put on some blue (removable) Loctite so I can put it right back to use, but long term, is there a good permanent fix for the saw?

Only one example of dozens of YT fixes… but the use of a cordless drill to freehand tap & chase new threads is questionable.

Those little POS saws use a tapered seat plug, Champion D series, so do your homework before you buy the insert kit.

I would use a Time-Sert. Change plug type if you have to. If switch it over to crush gasket NGK.
