Swapping 028 parts -Old AV with Late Super?

Ok, so I see this old 028 AV on Craigslist for 25 bucks- says parts saw. Looks similar to Fido's butt. Guy says it ran within the last yr but metal tank is cracked and recoil quit working. Guaranteed me it had spark. That was what I mainly was concerned with as there is some sort of ignition flue going around at my place. He says he just went and bought new saw... I comment to him that that is what I should be doing as I handed him the cash. Well, I have a late 028 super that I got off Craigslist some time back. Got peeled like an onion on it! Anyway P&C is shot on the super. I figured this AV is the small displacement one. I have got to run to hardware store that happens to b Stihl dealer so I decided what the heck, I will slap the starter off the super on it and just see if it has any compression. Well, I yank flywheel cover off and wow! it's got a petronix (I think) electronic conversion on it! So I put starter on it and give it a pull and HUH???!! It definately has compression. I can't resist but to put comp gauge on it for grins. I couldn't believe it ... I got 175 psi on two well used Snap On automotive compression guages and finally found my new small engine tester and it shows 180! I checked carb screws and it was way fat on low. About spec on high. put gas in it and crank it a couple times and it cranks up. At first I thought air leak but turned idle down and after a little fine tuning it idles better than any saw I have. Nail it and it is just right on high. 4 strokes a touch but cleans up in the cut. I almost wonder if P&C hasn't been changed. Dull chain but pretty sure it will eat my late 028 WB and out grunt my 026 Pro. So here is my delima- can I just swap my Super tank and chain brake on it or would it be easier to swap this piston cylinder and carb on to the super? definately going to pick up a jag of t27 screws and fuel and impulse line while at the store. Pretty sure Av mounts have been replaced on it already. Tight as any 028 I ever used. Has new black Stihl mesh air filter on it too. I just gave more for a flocked Stihl filter for my WB a couple weeks ago than I gave for this saw. My luck is generally the complete opposite of this.
 
That is my long term goal. Right now I am just trying to keep a couple of runners going. I am also a full time/ part time bovine relocation specialist. Got really busy last summer and fall and neglected my firewood duties and now it is run out and cut a couple of rick anytime I get the chance. Never can have too many runners around. Two weeks ago, left for the woods with 3 fine running saws all with freshened chains, fueled up and oiled up and ready to really hit a big lick on a day I could peel away and leave the phone in the truck. By lunchtime I was down to a sharp hatchet....
 
Will the chain brake swap over simple enough? I have got spoiled to locking the brake before I go clambering around in the stobs and such. Cut my teeth on old Homelites and Rem/Monkey Ward Bantams with no brake but I had better balance and healed faster back then. I still miss that screaming little 32cc 12" bar Remington. If I could find a coil for it I would bring it back to the fleet. - Yes, it too caught the coil flue about 10 yrs ago.
