Hey mate, hope your having a better day over there.

I cleared up the fallen branches, then put a new tube in the balers tyre, got it all sorted, chains lubed, etc.
31 bloomin idiot bricks in, and the chain that drives the pick up fingers breaks, wraps itself around the center drive pulley/ chains, and messes up the timing and the plunger hits the feed fingers and bends the drive arm.
*&^$%&#%$&^$%&*#$*#&^#$^@&#$#$

No more bales this year, and wont get them done before the rain tomorrow evening.

ahhh &^#$%#%#%##
no bales, no cleaned up paddock, and an expensive repair bill if i can even find replacement parts.
Ah the joys of messing about with 60 year old equipment.

doh! this next month got me date mucked up

How did the road ranger box treat you? Did you match the ground speed with engine revs to make crunch free gear changes. It’s like riding a bike once you’ve got the hang of it [emoji1303]

Yep, if you lose track of what’s happening then it’s best to stop and start over. Won’t be long and you’ll be shuffling them through without the clutch [emoji1303]

Noticed a few places are having sales on at the moment.

Any of you use JakMax bar oil, have been using Castrol in 20l, but this stuff is quite cheap at the moment, or is it the old adage, you get what you pay for ?

I used to get that at end of season for 90 bucks 20lts, but now that shop has changed to husky supplier.
60 for 20lts jakmax inc free freight is tempting, it used to be good oil made by alco, not sure now, been out of the game re oil industry for a while now, so dont know if its vegy shop strained thru old socks stuff. :)

Hey, long shot, but im rebuilding a 661 basket case saw, after some bits and pieces, thought I had sorted a muffler assy from ebay, but as its coming from the states, US postal services have stopped shipping to Australia due to their lack of truck drivers and staff, as the story goes.

Anyone here have a damaged one they ran over or dropped a tree on or has one that wont run right that can part out complete, and or some bits, plastic covers, muffler, cylinder av spring assy would be helpful.

Cheers chaps.

Hey Derwoodii, hows the cruiser going, I finally got around to sorting the unis and ctr brg on the hilux, also replaced a worn yoke on the diff end, now have the front wheel bearings to sort on the ute, bit of play, hmm, shouldnt be doing that, then realised they had been done 40k ago.

Those of you with 2 piece tail shafts, a bit of a trick to make the center bearing rubber last longer is to fill its voids with some sikaflex, they dont flog out, and you almost get to the point of the bearing getting worn before having to replace them.
No extra vibrations, and the rubber carrier piece lasts for an almost acceptable service time.

I will have scrounge around workshops see if any 661 muffs about.

The cruisers doin ok i had the front end CV reco'd last week and the tappets to be done soon.. all the windows got luv & a lube and so they work now..

So handy down my road its Toyota mech who a series 80 specialist & happy to fix things not too pricey

Appreciate that, if there are any plastic covers for air filter/ and cylinder, that would help too.

Tappets worth doing at recommended intervals, makes a difference in the efficiency of those motors, not a lot of hp to start with, but they last for ever if you keep the oil changes up to them.

Solid axle rebuild is not cheap, but worth it, I would assume they were done when the cv's were done, since you have to take quite a bit apart to get to them.
