When I have the right tool, the work to be done is quick and painless. When I have to work with some inferior or awkward tool, I look for reasons to put off the task.

Ratchet Scrench is on its way. O'Boy!

Took me over a year to modify this and have it the way I wanted it. It was too short and the outer dogs and my fingers/knuckles were colliding.

Took an old scrench and cut it off. Ground flat both the ratchet and the scrench piece, welded them together, then moved a stand pipe over the weld and welded again.


This is now right and very solid.

This morning I tested it out on the full wrap 500i. Perfect.

I buggered up the 500i a few days ago. Nuts were not on tight enough and while cutting the clutch cover got loose and the bar and chain came off its mount. Damage to the chain, and the chain adjustment tab and control bolt broke, and need replacing. Got them on order yesterday. Most damage I've ever caused a saw. Because of this I got off my procrastinating ass and got this ratchet wrench modification started and completed in about an hour.
