I've used the page several times. Good info.
I was looking at walking sticks/staffs on ebay.
I've read oak, hickory and ash are strong wood, but didn't know about dogwood... apparently, it's even more dense and stronger than those.
In the comments under the description, they say it's used for mallets.
Should make a good staff.

I like cherry. I have a cherry walking stick that I cut while hunting about 25 years ago.
I've always kept it dry, meaning it is either in my truck or my house when not in use.
It's about 1 1/4" in diameter at the top and a little less than a inch on the bottom.
It's very strong and very very light.
I cut it while it was a sapling.
 
That’s awesome!! I typically use the bits I remember from going to forestry school but that site covers a lot of different things we did not see. Thank you thank you! :)
