Tsumara bar tip failed.

Does tsumara warranty their bars? I have maybe 10 hours of milling on the bar. Most of which was pine. It let go while milling big white oak 26-27" wide.
Does anyone offer a service to replace the tips?

Tips are very easy to replace your self.

Not sure failure after 10hrs of milling is warrantable, if there was a defect it most likely would have failed long before 10hrs. If the rails got loaded up and the tip starved for oil it wouldn't take long to hurt it.

Tips are less then $20 and easily done with a hard flat surface (think vice anvil) and a hammer.

Not sure on the warranty but guessing no. Ask the store you bought the bar from?

But you can replace it easily. I would also try and understand if it was a defect or something to do with the setup. Adequate oil? What does the failure look like?

I've changed them out in the field on a stump. Carefully remove the head of the rivet with an angle grinder, push rivet out with a punch and hammer, replace tip, peen over new rivets with a hammer and you are GTG.

The sprocket itself broke in 2 sections with half the teeth on one broken side. Part of the sprocket came out of the tip.

Thanks for all the help. I found the numbers on the tip and I was able to find a replacement tip on Amazon. It'll be here tomorrow.
