Unusual chain

The chains I've seen for ice are WAY too aggressive for wood; rakers basically gone & skip chain to get the shavings out of the way. They'll rip the saw out of your hands on a log but ice cuts like butter.
That said, if you do modify a chain for cutting ice don't let somebody green handle it & find a way to mark the chain if possible. You're basically taking off all the safety features & making it feed very fast, not a combination you'd want to accidently try on wood.
 
had a feeling I mite find some of that chain at my shop. Definitely a interesting design.
