I’m looking for sources of woods like apple, white oak, hickory, cherry in my area. Unfortunately I don’t have any of these trees on my property. All I can find around here is either cut and split firewood which is loaded with birtch, elm and other crap I have to identify and remove or outrageously expensive “cooking” wood we’re taking $1000 or more a cord insanity! Honestly I don’t care if it’s cut and split wood as I still have to buck and split it to size for my pit. I don’t care if it’s seasoned either. I’ve talked to a couple tree guys in the area sometimes get some maple I rarely get oak and it’s usually red oak. I’m willing to pay a fair price, and more if they are willing to cut and split it to the size I want but that’s just a luxury I don’t need.
