Hello All,

I'm on the board of our HOA. We had Davey Tree come out to advise on the state of our trees in the association. They came to my house and pointed out that our Maple Tree had wood borers. I went to our local garden center and talked with one of their Arborist on how to treat this problem. He showed me two products and how to use them (see attached pic).

My main question is how do I know when they are dead?

Attached is a pic of the tree and the products purchased to fix this problem

Thanks

Did your tree guy tell you the name of the borer? It's very possible that what you have is ambrosia beetles. In which case it's more important to improve health and vigor of the tree than using insecticide.
