A coworker of mine is retiring, he's a property owner and plans to buy a new saw. As a gift I starting to put together a wood cutter kit. I'm looking for suggestions! I think he has a Echo 50cc saw now but he's undecided on MS462r or 500iR. He needs a bigger saw for the work he's has planned. I've never been out there but he has a fairly large piece of ground in the PNW coast range, large pastures, mix of timber and some hardwoods. He's had this property as long as I've known him but other than running cattle hasn't done much with it and is planning on development it... maybe built a home. Typical firewood, and some Timber falling, land clearing/cleanup kind of work. So far I've collected general stuff... a falling ax, mixed of falling wedges, box of files, File handles, Mix oil, bar oil, duel fuel /oil can, a wedge pouch, a spencer tape, couple quench's, plastic piston stop, saw cleaner, a good raker gauge, couple tuning screw drivers, Stump vise and course a box. So... what am I missing??

chaps??

Safety Helmet/face guard/ear protection. Most of us have bad hearing already might help save what we have left.

Golf balls with various holes drilled in then for file handles, cheap and fit the hand. ( I am a farrier and started using golf balls for hoof rasp handles about ten years ago after seeing it at an education clinic)
