Today these make me up to 49 saws
More freebee's showed up at my doorstep. Not expensive saws but I enjoy the newness of them as they may be a first for me. strato??? These have dual throat carbs, making them different from the earlier 2150's. These both are AV chassis.
2005 42cc P4018AVBH type1 now runs with a new fuel line, new carb (kit may have been enough) and used, on hand, 18" B&C.

2013 42cc PP4218A has a scored piston. Will have to dismantle to see the cylinder wall.

Well this thread TOTALLY missed being a "sticky" this year. Hope AS wakes up for 2018.

Call, it’s mine, guy tells me it’s in his “barn” at the end of his drive, get address and take off, GPS says 1hr 45min. Get there and GPS tells me to turn on his road. Big sign at end of the says “Residents and Guests Only” hmmmm! Drive back the road and there ain’t a house for less than $350,000 on the road!!! Pull in his drive to the “barn”, his barn has a tile floor, a bar with 2 taps, huge wall mounted tv, one wall is a working football scoreboard. There are 2 dreamsicle chainsaws, a dreamsicle weedeater, a dreamsicle hedge trimmer and a dreamsicle backpack leaf blower. I honestly think the homeowners association made him get rid of the Echo. Echo 590 Timberwolf and Echo case, runs great, piston looks like new. Will get muff mod and retuned. $100.

HOA probably objected to the bar being upside down.

View attachment 619322 Drove 1 hr one way to look at this saw. I knew from pic and his listing it would need a new clutch cover and bar. Guy was a total ****. Saw would fire right up but tap the throttle and it would bog and die. Twice this happened, I knew what was wrong but because of his attitude I kept my mouth shut. He said it just needed carb cleaned. I said carb needed replaced or rebuilt, offered him $75. He took it. Drove home, dumped his gas and added fresh. Fired it up and PULLED BRAKE HANDLE BACK. Throttle response is great! Needs cleaned but other than clutch cover everything else is good, piston included. It’s a 6100.

I'll add a couple I just got...

Went to look at this saw I found on Letgo. Was listed for $240 but they said they would take $200. Ended up being at a pawn shop. Got it for $160 and a $40 trade. While I'm pulling the muffler he tells me he has a really nice 5 series Husky with low compression and he is thinking of parting it out. I say how much for it just like it is. He says $40! Picked it up the next day! It has a toasted piston and cylinder. Pressure and vac tested and faulty decomp! The 346xp is a 2012 and the 550xp is a 2015!

When you're on a roll!!! Caught a Craig’s List posting about 15 minutes after it was posted. Older guy, like I have much room to talk, was selling his house and him and his wife were moving. Only a 30 minute drive . Husky 350 and case. $75.

Wondering what the problem is that I have??? to recover from.
Is it curiosity kill the cat?
49 saws and not much over $1000 blown for a fun, self prescribed, education about ODPE. Over 2/3 of them free. Most not worth selling for money.
I still rotate them for cutting fire wood for my apartment wood stove and the shop Big Moe/All Nighter.
