Want to Sell 075 AV in good shape

Does it run? Yes, it ran great the last time I used it. It hasn't had fuel in it for 4 years, it may or may not need a carb kit, I just want the potential buyer to be aware that it's been sitting unused for an extended period of time. No work done to it prior to its nap, it was a good runner...

Want to Sell 075 AV in good shape

I have an 075AV that's in pretty good shape that has been collecting dust for 4+ years. Comes with a brand new hard nose bar, 32" if I remember correctly. Also have 1 or 2 brand new, never used chains. The saw hasn't been touched for over 4 years and will probably need a carb rebuild as a...

winter was too tough on this one?

Long story short. I bought a few trees and had them spaded in back in the fall of 2012. They all did fine in 2013 but the 2013/2014 winter was nasty here in Illiinois. Fast forward to 2014, my shademaster locust isn't looking good, at all. Is there anything I can do to save this tree? I had it...

    tree id w/leaf pic

Got a few trees with this leaf & thingamajig in the area, just wondering what they are. I'll guess they're about 40' tall. I wouldn't think they will be too tuff to i.d. since they've got this foot long green bean looking thing, I've never seen anything similar. Any guesses?

    Which wood dries the fastest??

Ash & silver maple, pretty obvious by now. I'm surprised nobody suggested locust yet. I've been burning it yearly, seems to season quickly. Cut it now & I guarantee you'll be warm next winter.

    Planting too close together?

I've got a few trees coming a week from now & I'm not sure if I've got adequate spacing laid out for them. The first is a 2.5" swamp white oak which I have marked 48' from where tree #2 will be. Tree #2 is a 2.5" fall fiesta sugar maple. The third is a 3.5" shademaster locust, it will be...

    Need Some Fresh Advice Boys

"-My house is about 3600 square feet. How much stove/insert do I need to heat MOST of the home?" I've got a mid sized Jotul insert (C450) and it does fine with 2000 sq feet. If I had 3600 I wouldn't even consider a stove or insert, I'd be looking at an add on furnace, especially if the...

When burning full time, post how much wood do you burn in a day...

I typically carry wood in the house using a 5 gallon bucket, lengths are 18"-20". I use three bucket loads per day, 6am, 4pm, & 9pm load times. Stove is a Jotul C450 insert. Soft maple in the shoulder seasons, good **** Dec - Feb.

Moving heat in a ranch home - fancy sketch attached

10-4. One of my considerations is to move the cold air return registers in the 3 bedrooms near the bottom of the wall. They are currently on the wall just a few inches from the ceiling (pulling hot air). If I installed a new low air returns below the existing ones (near the floor), blocked the...

Moving heat in a ranch home - fancy sketch attached

Unfortunately the brick fireplace the insert is going into doesn't have a provision for an outside air intake. It'll be pulling outside air in thru the 50 year old window "seals" throughout the house. They're in good condition but have some years on them.

Moving heat in a ranch home - fancy sketch attached

I've seen those & I'm sure they serve their purpose but I don't want to look at them, hear them, or deal with their exposed wiring therefore the idea of a short duct running from the family room (high on the wall) thru the garage, and into the living room. I'm not preoccupied with getting...
