    Homelite 23av Powerstroke 38cc

Good to know...I'd like to keep running it some here and there and so I'll need to find parts somewhere sooner or later. Biggest problem with running it is getting my hearing protection geared up: ear plugs and ear muffs and then two dense foam pillows gorilla-taped to the sides of my head...

Yep, it's marked "XL-12...Lightest saw in the Famous XL Series", or some such thing. (Don't know that I could handle the heaviest.)...I think Grandpa told me it was made in '64; could be wrong...I cranked it up and trimmed a few low limbs with it about three years ago and it ran just fine.

$20 to $50?...That's disappointing...Piece of crap...It's already leaking bar oil I've noticed...And I mean as it sits unused in its case. So you know a thing or two about Homelites? I have one from the mid 1960's that belonged to my great-grandfather. I have some questions regarding that...

"40 Fuel"...I'll remember that one; never heard of it... I only ask how much it's worth because I want to re-sell it. I already have use of (though I don't own) a Stihl; and I just bought an Echo, an old McCulloch and an electric Craftsman along with this Homelite, all second-hand, all in a...

Old Saw: McCulloch MAC 10-10 Automatic

Thanks, guys... I ran about a half tank through it at 50:1 with my Stihl mix, but I was a little worried about it...Still not sure which way to go, but I'd rather err on the side of caution...Think I'll do the 40:1 and go from there. I wonder where I can find replacement parts for this...

Old Saw: McCulloch MAC 10-10 Automatic

Directions under the air filter cover read exactly as follows: "Fuel Mix: Add 6 oz. McCulloch custom lubricant or 1 PT. S.A.E. 40 (16:1) to 2 U.S. Gal. Regular Gas" My Questions: 1. Can't I just use Stihl brand (or any other label for that matter) that I mix in my Stihl saw, so long as...
