    backup fall protection

hey guys, I don't know much about the cammed ascenders but it looks like it's a bit easier to climb than with the traditional body thrusting method. just wondering though, what do you guys use as a backup for fall protection when using ascenders?? I know you can use the Prusik friction hitch...

    Worker injury

can people really be that stupid??? If someone blows through cones or doesn't heed warning of danger I feel they give up any compensation rights that they feel is just after an accident in which they placed themselves in harms way!!!!

    a question for the arborists.

boy canola sounds alright!!! I smoke my own meats and usually I'll hand cut the ends because I don't want any off tastes are scents going into my meats. But if canola works and there is no excessive friction on the bar or chain won't have to do any hand cutting!!!!

    Reducing shock loads

Dan, I'm no pro but what we do is pretty much what you had stated about tying half way with a hinge that lowers slowly which tighens the rope. When the limb is free we usually lower from a break with a fluid hand over hand motion, no jerking, the climber really doesn't have to worry about...

that's the problem I feel guilty asking for more money, I hope and wish he would just offer because he sees how I work and I still believe that should speak for itself. If a groundman makes $7-$8 then I'm ahead of the game and I need to take the next step whether that's learning to climb or...

    bucket trucks

Hey what are your opinions on bucket trucks. I know absolutely nothing of bucket trucks and was wondering what the concensus is amongst the arborists finest. Are they safer than climbing? (obviously I mean from a playing it safe standpoint not that you can be careless and it will be okay). What...
