New grinder blade sharpener Tecomec or Oregon

Regarding the jolly grinder w hydraulic grip, I was wondering if u ever have trouble w the chain not seating properly before it gets clamped. IOW, do you have to sometimes/never/always use your fingers to make certain it’s down? I ask because sometimes when I pull my chain back against the...

    Resinoid Grinder Wheels

This is the video I watched, that put me onto checking into trying to find and use a ceramic wheel...and kindofwhy. I’m just trying to find out which works the best. I’ve sharpened chains for several years on my timber tuff grinder....just looking to better things. Figured I’d find the best...

    Resinoid Grinder Wheels

And as far as I can understand, (correct me if I’m wrong) this is the ceramic type wheel, that lasts a lot longer than the common/normal ones that come out “factory” w the grinders. And are they to be dressed w a dressing stone or left alone?

    Resinoid Grinder Wheels

https://www.sharpeningsupplies.com/5-34-x-316-Chainsaw-Grinding-Wheel-60-Grit-P1091.aspx I’ve been looking into putting a different “aftermarket” grinding wheel on my bench grinder, is the above vitrified bond not the best option?

    SGR's

Been steadily losing leaves for 3 full months. It's history. Wish I could've saved it.

    SGR's

Not a leaf left on it now. Surely it had to be SGR's (?), the other one next to it looks just fine.

    Questions

Client: "I'd like you to prune this tree for me, my grandpa planted it, and I'm not sure the best time of year to do it, or even how to do it, you're the expert, that's why I called you and not Joe's wack'm and stack'm. Please schedule it and call me in advance." Me: "Thank you mam for giving...

    Questions

I have varying questions from time to time, in relation to plant health...so I'll just start a thread for that. 1) just got back from the Orlando Conference, and in a CODIT Principle session, Dirk Dujesiefken spoke briefly of trees' wound wood reaction to pruning being considerably faster when...

    Bradford Pear Problems

Last year we had fireblight pretty bad here in the Midwest, but the Bradfords fared quite well in comparison... Very little infection. I was just going off of the extension offices' info. that they are moderately resistant, but not immuned. Guess they're not all together even moderately...

    White Pine stand a chance?

Have a question Raintree or whoever... I've read that : "gypsy moth feedingcan increase a tree's susceptibility to the attack by the shoestringfungus, Armillariella mellea and the two-lined chestnut borer...etc" My q is, is the reason that Gypsy moth(and other pests) can make a tree more...

    Bradford Pear Problems

Transplant shock, IMO. Maybe some over watering involved too... Hopefully the hole that was dug had the same soil put back into it.(not drowning the roots) Bradfords are pretty resistant to FB.

    White Pine stand a chance?

Ligtning strike a few years back... not to mention some ice storm damage a few yrs back... Decay is about 4" wider to the right, and 2" to the left(vertically, under loose bark) Termites behind bark in photo5. Trunk/root collar decay I dont think it can be turned around, even with some...

    prune root or leave

    SGR's

Went ahead and cut 3 girdlers....Thought it worth a shot of giving 20 mins, as apposed to a full blown out root collar exc., and maybe it'll pull out by some chance.... Thx for the help.

    SGR's

Rain, do u think this tree is worth trying to air spade-root collar excavation, to assess & primarily root prune, to save...or is they're probably too many girdling roots already to make a difference

    Weeping Cherry

Is there any noticeable differences that would take place in a crown, caused from root rot verses a girdling root?

    Weeping Cherry

To me, looks like the primary issue here is 1)planting too deeply... Other additional issues... no proper mulching, could have some root girdlers, cankers..and maybe weedeater damage gone worse...canker? Anyway, I think the too deep of planting has caught-up and is the primary culprit to the...
