fair pay for 16 year old son.

You got that right, my sons are 3 and 1. The 3 year old helps with the dog kennel chores, has for almost a year now. His job is to collect the dog bowls and bring them to the feed bin to be filled. Chores will just be considered a part of life to him. Now that its cold he likes to help fill...

    central boiler slab

notch isn't necessary but what a pita if you decide to add on later and don't have it. Takes 10 minutes to form up

Radiant heat in Slab. How do I do it?

you have the right idea. Screen? We just used Wire Mesh Rebar sheets. Wired the Pex loops to it. There is a slick tool that will twist wire (used for aviation safty wire) that speeds things up. You will need several loops as you don't want to go a certain footage (thinking inthe 150 to...

    Poison Ivy Contamination

I carry a jug of distilled vinegar in the truck and a roll of paper towels. Wipe off exposed areas every time I fuel up the saw, if I suspect I'm in the stuff. Haven't gotten a bit of it in several years. I used to get it bad before I started this practice to. Also wear gloves when you tie...

Timberwolf 5 or 6 pics wanted

Have a 6 and 26ft conveyor here. sorryno pics though. Work to much to fool with that stuff. I went withthe 6 because of the more durable frame and rough use. If you have a need for it buy it, nothing comes close to them. Be sure to get a conveyor though because all that capacity is...

Do I need a chimney liner?

I've been thinking about an insert as well. My fireplace isa heatilator with SS pipe. 8 or 10 inch whatever heatilator called for at the time. So I'm good as far as the liner goes or not? Radiant heat just isn't doing the job in the great room as ceilings are 22ft and laminite is covering...

    Poison Ivy

My grandmother taught me this one and it really seems to work for me at least. When you know you've been in it wash with distilled vinigar. I carry a bottle in the truck and a roll of paper towels. Wipe off with it within an hour or so of contact and yet to get it. Also, boot laces are...

    Firewood length seasoning

Ash will burn well even green in an OWB (moresmoke thought). I havwe a cb too and prefer 16's to 24's as you can pack more wood into it that way and get a longer burn time. I through in 3 rows but to but tossed stacked as best I can. Seems to be more efficient than 24's. Just my .02.

    Big Firewood Plans This Weekend!

We run a hunting preserve on the ground in the Fall and winter so not the best option for us unfortunately.

    Deck for firewood truck?

I'd second the dump trailer idea. I got one and parked my F800. Saves me about 800 a year on plates and insurance. I had a 91 toy with a 4 banger and a 95 Runner with a six neither had much power except in low. Now I would love to find one for a crummy, lots of posibilities to set one up as...

    Big Firewood Plans This Weekend!

Yeah this heat is getting bad in Ohio, humidity is aweful. I got the skidder trails cut and about 50 24+ inchers down before it hit thinking I'd do the skidding and enjoy the A/Cin the tractor when it hit 90, but got 3-4 inches of rain the last few days and now its too wet. Think I'll keep...

    Saw Files

My Stihl dealer always gives me 13/64th's with my chain. I have used both and noticed the following. When cutting clean wood the 13/64 is a little fast and stays nice and sharp. The smaller file gives a more aggressive cutting edge, however it dulls more easily than more bluntly files 7/8ths...

    Point of entry

Ohiowoodguy, the loggers aren't dishonest, but the timber buyers are shrewed. If you don't trust the guy I think you ought to look elsewhere. If your unsure of his terminoligy then ask. I understand you don't want to look like a greenhorn, but you'll look worse if you screw it up. I've heard...

    Michigan firewood dealers

Tazman, I was talking already processed. Triaxle loads like that are about 120-150 per load (about 8 cord). Thats what one of the big guys told me anyway. Nice looking poles by the way.

Hello! Firewood cutting with my MS210

sdaly, I started out with a 280 traded for a 290 and added a 440 to the mix. Last fall I grabbed a 210 as well and love it. I find its great for limbing and small stuff. Really saves the back. (Safer too) 440 Bucks everything out these days as time is money and using a grapple bucket...

    Michigan firewood dealers

Second thought Michigan is in a little (not much) worseshape than Ohio so might bring slightly less, not much though IMHO

    Michigan firewood dealers

I'd say $200 per cord minimum given LP prices. Thats basically $65 a face. I was at the Timberwolf Dealer today in Columbus, he's starting at $240 by the sounds of it. That's metro prices though so... Drug home a TW6:chainsaw:  :givebeer:
