i havent felled too many palm trees. but this one is pretty big and i dont want it to fall too hard because of a driveway. we just had Irma through here and one large palm fell (missed neighbors house thankfully) now this one is leaning. what do you think? box cut on a leaning palm? its not leaning real bad but still leaning alittle.

I wouldn't mess with a boxcut mate, those are for hollow trunked hardwoods.

A standard western or humbolt with a few wedges outta do just fine.

You can always use log "bumpers" on each side of the driveway to absorb most of hit.

Waitin round till the wind's blowin steadily in your favor's not a bad idea, if you've got the time.

Howzabout a pic of the victim?

Sorry that is the tree that fell down and missed the house. I will post a pic of the leaning palm. I think it will be fine if it falls on concrete but its the neighbors driveway so dont want to risk anything.
