Would you split the case to clean this, or wash it out with gas and proceed with the rebuild? Bearings all feel smooth and tight. Pretty low hour saw that lost a circlip. Lots of flakes in the case.

Close, it's the red-headed mag cased cousin. 2149. The plan is to put an XP top end on it because I've never had the 346 "experience".
Well then, get ready for some fun, I just did one ( 350-346 hybrid ) and it far exceeded my expectations. Tear that sucker down and seal up the lower end, throw the new 346 top end on it and prepare to smile!:p

I've had a couple 350s come and go that I thought I'd do it to but I never had the urge, and none of them needed a top end. Seemed like a waste so I just repaired them and sent them on their way.

I've repaired and rebuilt dozens of 350's, none of them can top the hybrid! 346 top end, OEM goes for around 105$, the light weight and power combo is the best firewood saw out there.
