So I've been trolling and sponging up all kinds of information on this site and others. I got my hands on a stihl 090 and am very excited to start milling some slabs. But I'm very curious to know about what year this one might be from. I found this serial number 1149687. What to guys think?

Try Stihl's web site. I know you can call or send them the serial # and get the date of manufacture. You may be able to enter it on their web site and get it that way too. Or as Robin Wood said, try the "chainsaw" forum. Those guys will walk you through trouble shooting, fixing and rebuilding it. The guys here will help you with all of the milling nuances. rarefish is right, stihl do respond when inquired with serial no. for the production date
that saw's muffler looks like custom made, dont think they sold with that setup
