So I am out here working on my 44 and I am picking through the bucket of parts and I notice that one of the two intake "spacers" has a much larger opening in it than the other one. The larger one fits the good P&C I have. The smaller one does correctly fit one of my two bad cylinders. Does the larger port make it a Practical or a Rancher, and the smaller one make it a standard 44? One saw was made in 83 and the other in 84. I am building the one made in 84. SN 1984 013567 if that helps. Thanks!

I know in the white top rancher 61's had smaller carbs than the later 61's. I know that the 61 was a detuned version of the 162se. My dad had several and that Is what the dealer told him. I know they built a 444 which I think is the pro edition of the 44. Saw troll could answer the question for sure he is the man on husky info.
