Yeah suction hose is fine. Spendy though. I just price a 6ft length of 1.25" for my processor and it was almost $30 a ft!

RectorSeal 5 is what I use for pipe dope.

The video looks good. Any plans to up size the pump to get decent speed out of it now that it's all setup?

ValleyFirewood - Wrong post - I don't have a video posted....I got some rectorSeal #5 for pipe dope.

Oh. There is a video.on the 2nd page, thought it was your machine. Whosever it is, just seemed really slow.

Mounted the choke and throttle controls today.
The cycle time is calculated out to 6.2 seconds according to the chart I used. Won't know for sure till I get the hoses and test it out...

That splitters looking nice,,,
BBB

I haven't seen hose prices that low in a long time. I got a new hose from my grapple not long ago and the hose was $12/ft. 8ft long, cost me close to $200 all said and done.

I would have welded a small post beside your cylinder for the engine controls,,,just a thought.
Less chance of getting bashed or accidently used,,,snagged on clothing etc.

We have a store called Princess Auto that sell lots of stuff (like Harbor Freight) Not sure what the Princess part is,,,
It cost $238 for all my hoses. He came out of the store and measured and made up my hoses.
I got a price for suction hose from another place was $1 less per foot, but they wouldn't come out and make my hoses.

nice build. you'll appreciate putting it on the boat trailer axles. built mine the same way and traveling down the road, you don't even know it's there.

Finished building the outfeed table today. Primer and paint tomorrow. 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" square tube and schedule 40 1/2" pipe. The sides are 3/16" X 8" X 42" flat steel angled 30 degrees. It is removable. Held in place with two 3/8" grade 8 bolts. Heavy but manageable for one person to attach. I will post pictures of it attached to the splitter after I get it painted.

gotta say, you've come to the right forum to build a splitter. I got many ideas from the guys here and I began reading about basic hydraulics and just began designing it.

be careful of the overkill...remember, it's a log splitter. nice thing about building one from scratch is you can proudly say "I made it", rather than "I bought it".

your machine looks real nice, the only problem is every one you know, and then some, is going to want to borrow it!!!

This is a great forum, Ive learned a lot here. Having loads of fun with the build. Thanks for the positive comments mga. I appreciate all the feedback I've received from everyone.
