Sears / Roper chainsaw

I have an older roper gear drive chainsaw I think 1985 , 1986 ?? model 917.352130 . To remove the clutch is it cw or ccw ? And does the gears all have to be remove and does the gears need to be grease ? I need to be careful parts are not available anymore. Thanks.

I am not certain, but I would bet it is tightened in the opposite direction it rotates when running. So, to loosen it, you would need to turn it in the same direction as operating rotation.

I have no clue whatsoever about that. But on the other hand, the video below does not appear to show a chain brake, so perhaps a little grease may be OK.


A quick Google search found a chainsaw collectors forum, but I can't post the link here without getting an error message. Google also found the following thread here in this forum ...
