This must be my lucky day! I just got my 390XP advertised in the 'bay as possibly having a bad bottom end. Both bearings are tight and smooth:clap:. The new piston is indeed new. The cylinder looks like new inside. And to top it off...it runs like a charm after tuning the carb and setting the idle. Every now and then it will just stop running. But there are numerous loose wires hanging on it. I'll try to sort them out, but if worse comes to worse, it just won't be a XPG any more, just a XP. Also the threads are a little buggered on the sparkplug hole. If you get it in right it tightens down nicely though. Nothing that can't be fixed should it need be. There is one crack in the case in a totally insignificant place. Looks like I really scored on this one. I'm going to get it cleaned up tonight and will post some pics in a new thread. Ohh...full-wrap handle and huge spikes too:clap:

That thing really shot up in the last minute or so, and just so you know I didn't have much to do with it :)

You dog, lol:greenchainsaw: So are you "s***b" or t***l? Those two bidders drove it up from $170 to $380 in the last minute or less. Actually this was my first ever snipe and EZ Sniper bid with 4 seconds to go. It's pretty amazing how he decided the bottom end was gone because it kept dying. I checked it out before I ever tried to start it. I took a calculated risk and lucked out. I'll put some new plastic on it and put this one with the rest of my keepers. I'd like to sort the heating wiring out. Might come in handy on some winter day. I've never run a heated saw before.

I would be t...l
I think I gave up before the other but don't remember. All was well though, I got a Jred 2094 later on. I'm still waiting for my new toy though.

I will warn you, if you cut much in the winter you will never get another saw without heated handles. I held off until last fall, but now I'm hooked.

Well you finally got one after dropping all of those finely veiled hints all over. I will watch intently for what you do with it. I did up a 394XP and have a stock one for comparing between mods and not modded. Now it is getting close to time to do something with the stock saw so I will be following what the Master comes up with. Congrats on the 390XPG
