Here's some pics of the french ppk80 two men saw. It was built for the french army (7th engineeering corps )and never got used....:sucks:

Its appearance is very simular to the Stihl KS43. PPK was forced to built these saws during WWII, as the Stihl KS43 was the official army saw.

She's brand new and came with the original box ; the famous coffin. My wife immediately saw a savings opportunity for when my time eventually comes....:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

Unfortunately, the saw came without a chain, so I'll have to find one in the future.

The saw is still uncleaned, so she's covered in a lot of dust.

Well Roland, the others have just about covered the accolades , that is a rare find indeed. It will look swell all cleaned up and a little surface rust removed. That model would have run a scratcher chain from that era, you may just luck out and find one. Cheers

That is one pretty neat saw. What is something like that worth in running condition? I have never even seen one like that.

:D

Roland,

Great score! Please tell Mrs. Roland that I'd be honored to carry that thing when the time comes. Just don't let her know I'll be firing it up during the funeral procession. Bet it'll make you smile. What mix do you and Gary want me to run?

ole joat

PS: Tommie ...... we got a road trip ole feller.

That's an awfully nice find. I'm assuming the tank on the non power head end is for bar oil but does the small tank on the end of the bar hold bar oil too or is it for something like gear oil?

Nice piece of history ya got there.

Spiffing the old girl up is going to be quite the chore, but when done, should be very satisfying.

Any chance you'll share the thing with local historical groups and such?

Stay safe!
