I wish I had a new MS381
It depends on which plant it was produced at. I've seen equipment made at the Brazilian plant that was much different than the same model equipment made in Germany or Virginia Beach, including not having an Elasto-start handle or having different trademarks.
I can't tell from the pics if that's a Chinese saw or not but just because it doesn't have the Elasto-start or a certain trademark on the recoil doesn't mean squat.
Wigglesworth, you're little Homelite looks better than my EZ...I hope it goes for more than the current bid. I'm sure it's worth more than that.
I agree with a. p., that's a pretty little saw. It would look really nice sitting with my blue XL12. I might have to bid on it just to keep it in the AS family, Joe.
Never had a blue Homelite...all mine are/were red. I have a 150 right now to work on next. Don't have any idea what's wrong with it..just got it.

"Big horse ms381" had the Ms381 listed on ebay last week, I informed ebay that
he was selling fake Stihl chainsaws, the listing was removed the following day.
