Jerry that farmsaw is really nice. i keep seeing them pop up just have not pulled the trigger yet on one. How do you like it?

Also that 922 you have is nice. I have a nice Super 922 in the mail and a nice 923 on the way in the mail to.

Echo stays on the bench as well for its chain sharpenings:biggrinbounce2:

When did you get a 450????
A member here sold me one. It's not a shelf queen, and I don't know what it needs, but I'm anxious to dig into it. Bummer is my parts guy doesn't seem to have much for 450s (as you know).

This was on the bench a few days ago.

I had dozens of the Farmsaws come and go over the years, this one was a freeby, they are not bad for a 66cc saw. The auto decomp has to be kept in good working order to prevent the recoil from stripping as most parts of the engagement mechanism is made from plastic/nylon. The 922 was my FIL`s last big homelite.

I agree, they work ok if you can get them started. Just get a p41 Rick, same guts, better body.

Your FIL is a good man running those homelites.

880, 288s as usual, haha. Wildthing-porting project. Mac 250 black top, and yellow top. C-72 that I think needs bearings and seals.

76 K-10 and soon to be a Farmall H.

I plan on getting a stable of pioneers soon. The p41 is same saw basically just yellow and better recoil??

I really like the orange ones though. Favorite color

yeah, the recoils are all plastic on the farmsaws, no end to the trouble. As Jerry said, if you keep the decomp working it helps, but still...

p41 is basically the same, a little better quality, the recoil is metal, both 66 cc's. Those orange farmsaws are a dime a dozen, they made millions of them.

He spent a lifetime in the woods, all he ever ran was Homelite. I am very lucky to have his first Homie and his last, actually have most of the ones from in between also.

That's cool that you are able to have those saws and a good story to go with them. I would cherish them for a long time

Chris,..I have friends/customers that are still cutting their wood up with Pioneers, a half dozen or so are still using the Farmsaws. If you keep them tuned and in good running condition they have been known to last a long while. The ones that get destroyed early are the ones not looked after,20+ pulls to get them going soon wear out the starter recoils.I have only replaced 3 starter pinions and one engager on the saws I look after but there are a lot of them that get ruined by owners not looking after them.
