reminds of a gun that shoots around corners.
Isn't that piston from one of those carving saws? You know the ones the cut all those curves.

No, it's from the new state of the art saw with the radiused cylinder. You might not have heard of it, it's still in the experimental phase of production.

Actually mine is in two pieces...Broke right in the middle of the bend...
I know, I know. I guess I forgot all that I've read about these. I wish I could say that it bent because I was doing something cool like running nitrous or something.

I still swear by my theory that it hydrauliced due to a bad carb...:msp_cool:

They have already made motorcycle engines with the Big Egg/Oval shaped pistons. It's coming.....
Another one of those quality rods from a Stihl homeowner saw. I'd say it's from a MS210 or 230. I think the 250 got a good rod.

i would just heat it up and bend it back iin shape and run it
MS180. Anyone need parts? I'm already into this too much to put anymore into it, going to cut my losses on this one and add it to the knowledge database.
MS230 and MS250 both use the same forged crank.
So the 210 is the largest with the tin foil rod?
As far as i am aware it is indeed.
+1 How much worse can it get? It might surprise you by running well for years.
