You have to take the ones I cleaned up (kinda) the other day, theres a grass catcher bag full of tins, frames, clutch covers, handles and gas tanks. Then theres the orange box sized box of motors and complete saws, a small stack of bars I scrapped, and the overflow-only 2-3 more saws. There were as many of them as there are other saws combined. I won't send these Priority, but they are coming COD.:cool2:

Wow, that's a lot of saws, if I'm reading that right. :msp_ohmy:

Mini Macs and saws really should be used separately. Useful if they run, but unlike a lime green plastic saw of today, they are hard to work on, time consuming and not IMHO worth the effort. You got one yet? Guys that get 890's in the mail should get one of these and be forced to get one running, but thats against the Geneva convention I think.

Oh dear Lord NO!!!!!

Please don't do that to me Jeff. I guess I better hurry up and change my address. Send the lot of 'em to the youngster below...:hmm3grin2orange:

Shhhhhhhhhhh.....

Don't discourage him. He needs something to really stamp the enthusiasm out and replace it with a healthy cynicism (and I need to get rid of the damn things). A buncha Mini-Macs oughta do it. I'll send him mine, and you send the rest. He can't get anymore freebee PM850's or 790's until he get's my 'box of happiness' (and say two or three out of your mess) up and running.:dizzy:

Why no love on my oil pump question tonight:cry:

I looked at the IPL and see no way to solve the issue without tanking the tank off. Is all that keeps the oil pump piston from leaking back an oring? and a tank gasket? from what I am seeing.

Also the IPL shows a two gaskets and a spacer for the top removable part of the oil pump and I do not recall seing a spacer in mine just on gasket that has pulled all apart:mad:

Shhhh... I'm only taking ONE Mini Mac at a time... new ones cannot be taken until the old one is fixed and sold...

My momma would be pissed if a 20 foot trailer filled with Mini Macs showed up in the driveway... :dizzy:

I am willing to try one, but I do not have infinite patience... and I don't have any room around here for a trailer load of Mini Macs. One or two is okay to try...

Man, more serious lightning and thunder around here right now...

I am too inexperienced with that saw to even offer an idea. Hopefully Mr. Heimann will pop in and tell you exactly what you need to do.

Thanks I am guessing with it being easter weekend it might be a short crowd around here as well.

I am concerned as I want to make sure I do the right thing on this beast. At least this approach I can check the carb boot and pulse line now with the tank off.

Just glob a bunch of JB weld in the oiler and call it good. Use a bucket of motor oil and dip the bar in that when it needs the lube.

Oh, sorry, missed the wanna do it right part... :jester:

In all seriousness, play with it and see if you can find the problem. If that spacer is missing, that likely could be the problem, as well as a bad gasket.

As for the Mini Macs? DO you guys play musical Macs with them? I keep hearing about shipping them off to someone else, who then ships them off to another guy, who then ships them off to this other dude, who then... okay, you get the idea.

Gotta go to bed... got lots to do tomorrow.

Really, they're great saws (no they're not). Pay me shipping and I'll send you 1.5 of 'em, including a nice yellow Mac case. Make a runner out of the two and you'll be a real small engine guy. It's a rite of passage...:D

I dug into the SP 125 tonight and removed the fuel tank and took the top part of the oil pump off and nothing looks bad there.

Clearly the oil pump itself is OK on the top as the little piston deal moves fine and the disk it appears all good.

So do I remove the oil tank itself to help determine why it is leaking back into the block? I am going to look at the ipl a little but I see no other way to resolve it without removing the tank itself and once I do what am I looking for? Are gaskets for these still available or am I somehow going to have to make a tank gasket and such?

On a good note the crank bearings have no play in them up and down or side movment. I am happy with that.

THe hack fuel tank repair though is clearly not working as I had poured some fuel in it and it appears to be seaping to no surprise.

Tanks are fairly easy to come by on ebay. I never had an oil problem before. Try to remove it easy, and you might not damage the gasket. That's my best advice. Sorry.

Most of the problem comes from having to stuff them in a case the devil himself designed, and then having to pull them back out again to tinker with something else.
Patience should have been part number 000001, and most likely would have been out of stock most of the time.

I looked at it again and the spacer is there. I guess I will remove the tank and see what is behind door number two.

I like the JB weld Idea. I could buy chain oil in five gallon buckets and just dip the bar in the bucket and cut:laugh:

Could the stuffer be rotted thru? Any oil leaking past the pump piston would be miniscule. Possible the gasket around the pulse port is blown out. But then the saw would have to be upside down or nose up to fill the case with oil. Taking the oil tank off is extremely easy. In fact, if have to get at the oiler, I would rather pull the oil tank than fight that fuel tank.
