I 'm not real familiar with the Jonsered models, and was hoping someone could tell me the main differences between the 2171, 2071 and the husky 372?

The main difference is the color. The front handle on the Jreds are strait, not angled like the huskys.
One's red and one's orange?:hmm3grin2orange:
The main differences between 372 and 2171 are plastics and handle bars. the 372 being angled and 2171 being straight. Other than that nothing.

Also the Jreds don't have an option fer a HD air filter.

So what's the difference between the 2171 and the 2071? Just a newer model?

I think the 2071 had the front chain tensioner instead of in the clutch cover. A later clutch cover with the adjuster will fix that. The 2171 handle spacing is a little more than the husky counterpart. It will balance with longer bars. The HD filter is moot point as it's really not a big deal after owning a 2171 for a while.

That was the answer I was looking for. I thought that might be the case. Thanks for all the replies.
I believe most 2071 ran a single ring piston.
both 371/2071 earlier saws had one ring but got 2 later in the production run around 99-00

Regarding xpw, I guess you really mean 75cc version - not all 372xpws are 75cc. :msp_smile:

On the EPA saws only, as far as I know.

Btw, the 2171 also have the strengthed case of the 372xp, as well as the side chain tensioner - this accounts for the slight weight difference.

Wow Troll you be the man when it comes to book knowledge on saws but I have never seen a 372 labled 372xpw on the black tag that wasn't 75cc. I think you might be wrong... You could get the 372xp with a wrap handle before that but it still wasn't a 372xpw...

I think saw troll is referring to the new x-torq 372xpw's. They are only 71cc.
