Hey guys, Anyone know who in the Boston,ma, area has a 562xp in stock? I fly home tomorrow but if someone has one I would pick it up tomorrow.

They seem to be on the way to the dealers, as I understand it - but isn't common to find yet? :msp_unsure:
It could be an idea to visit Spike60's shop in the Shokan area on you way, but he hasn't reported that he has them yet?

Dealer I spoke to yesterday said he would have to order one, mid January at the earliest.

I wish that someone around here had an idea of when they are going to come in. I have a local Husky shop not far from work, and I check in there every week or so. No word as of yet!

The word from Husky is that they are supposed to have the backorders filled by the end of the year. I've already got 2 shipments of them. I put orders in a half hour after they were available though. If your dealer is just ordering now it's gonna be a while.

I believe some dealers ordered them a long time ago, maybe halv a year, or more!

At least here, my dealers order on my 560xpg (march 2011) was still good when they finally arrived, and the first lot of 180 saws went to fill back-orders - at least that is what the dealer was told by Husky Norway! :smile2:

It seems like half a year ago. We were able to order the first part of Sep. I ordered before my rep. even knew they were available.

Well, my dealer hadn't heard of it either, before I told him about it in dec 2010....:smile2:

He notified me when it appeared on the dealer network in march 2011, and placed an order that was fulfilled early nov 2011.

It surely took some time!:laugh:

Mine will arrive on Friday just in time for a weekend of cutting while the weather is nice! Last year I was cutting with 4 feet of snow on the ground. Aside from the wood disappearing into the snow after each cut, my tractor kept getting stuck. Gotta cut as much as I can while the weather is good. Last year at this time we already had 3 feet of snow on the ground. I believe they are predicting close to a high of 50f this weekend!

I wanted to thank a certain forum member for outstanding service today. :blob2:

I have no idea regarding that - not my business anyway! :smile2:

Perhaps not my business, but I wouldn't want to step on a sponsor's toes - and violate forum rules. I'm sure when I had my 562's upon release I could have sold them in a heartbeat, along with the 555's when those arrived but alas I did not. That is not my business either, it is a sponsor's ;)

Don't assume I didn't buy from a sponsor. :)

It was my understanding in another thread that there were some in Manchester, NH somewhere. That's not too far from Boston. Im about 40 miles south of Boston myself and I've been debating making a road trip if they are in fact in NH. It would also be free of the sales tax too so it makes even more sense for me.

I called about 20 dealers between looking in the Boston area and checking here in Minnesota. If the dealer did know about the saw, they were saying around the 3rd week of January before they would have one. Most of the dealers I talked to didn't even carry or deal with the better saws. They mostly focus on the less expensive homeowner models.

I don't know if the 562XP warrants all the hype or not. I've never seen one in person. Mainly I know I wanted to try a Husky and at the same time there were a number of things I don't like about my Stihl. On the other hand, it could be the first year model of the 562XP will have problems and next year could see some changes. You never know.

Some of the larger dealers down this way know enough to tell me that even if they had it, I would be better off waiting until it is a little more established. This is of course their own opinions based on the track record of recent recalls to many of Huskys other products as well. A close friend does alot of business through my nearest dealer and he has an order in for 3 of the 562's. One of which will be mine. I see the saw pop up on Ebay occasionally and I have debated going that route. Of course my luck the day I find one elsewhere, I will get the call that the local dealer has my saw. Really wanted to put this thing under my Christmas Tree. Sad thing is when I finally get it, the newness will wear off 15 min into the first tree I buck and I will have forgotten that last year of pining for the saw.

They were not there Monday. I was in there picking up seals. They have the 555 though.
