don't tell me it's better than a 562xp whats the side ways balance like lol

Thats what I'm trying to get out of him. :cool2:

The autotune 562 is in a different world........Hell I think of it as a 70cc saw.

Randy,
I'm sure this is a great little running saw that spins chain like a raped date but man this thing looks like a cheap knock-off of a real saw to me. Can't quite put my finger on where but it just feels like every corner was cut on that thing to make it at a competative "price".

No I have never run one so I can't give a real oppinion of that but, nobody complains about the anti-vibe and wimpy filter until its on a Stihl.

Just sayin....

standing back with flame suit in hand.

No need for flaming. I agree that it appears "cheap" I will say that IMHO it's looks are deceiving. It have a higher quality casting on the jug than many new Stihl's I'm had in my hand.

No I'm getting out the fireproof suit. :msp_unsure:

Randy builds a wicked saw no matter the brand. He is a high caliber individual and his work is second to none. The only issue I have had with a build is my Dolly 120si came home with no sticker. Of course with the pace he's working at, we'll overlook a sticker now and then. I had that Dolly out today cutting. That saw filled the entire neighborhood with a sweet melody.

When you are here I'll hook you up with the new and improved "Mastermind" decal..... :msp_thumbup:

I don't think Randy's saying it's the best 60cc saw on the market. It simply responds the most to mods.

Yep.

awesome vids, just like being there, but unimpressed haha, my old 036 which I bet is a lot lighter and easier to wield around than these screeching red things, typical echo sound, you can hear the flat spot of weak lack of torque, the 036 stock with just a few extra holes in the muffler would cane their a$$es, in the real world after a serious one-month workout in the bush those red things will just overheat and seize into clattering junk hohohoho

I wonder. Randy, how would your woods ported 036 running 3/8 do vs the woods ported CS-520 running 325 you did last month?

I'll look for one on the Johnsered 2095. Is that build getting ready to begin? I have the Makita cleaned up and ready to bring.:blob2:

I've got some parts ordered. Jred parts are a bit slower to get it seems.

I just timed the cuts in walnut. I figured a 42.8 % increase in cut speed. I never touched the chain between cuts either.

Someone check and see if I did that right. Please. :msp_thumbup:

And I ain't too good with the maths, but I believe the 42%. You'd never know that was the same saw. It honestly looks like you went up about 20 cc's.

That thing was nasty slow stock.

Wow where did this thread come from!!
I also have changed my opinion on Echo's!
Another Hot One! Nice Job!! :msp_thumbup:

The design is very good IMHO. I'm not sure why but the compression was WAY too low..........and the muffler is pretty stopped up.

--might be one indication in the manual to explain this, the low compression. They indicate it might be a long time before proper break in occurs, I forget exactly, but a lot of tanks and retuning involved to do this. They also indicate no long sustained cuts until proper breakin has happened. Of course, they are vague on this too, what is a "long sustained cut", anything more than five or ten seconds? What size/species of wood? Too vague, especially for a noob with new saws like I was. And I still am, I just know enough now to richen stock settings just a little, and take it easy at first, nothing more than medium wood, say around 10 inches or something. but..maybe I am wrong on that as well, just don't know and can't afford a dozen new saws to get the hang of it.

Shipping too lean, my inexperience with this epa low emissions ethanol crap gas mal-adjusted carb nonsense, and not doing the "long time" proper breakin on smaller wood is what toasted mine. Mostly my ignorance, call it 95% my ignorance and misuse, hence me joining the site to learn more.

LMAO no flame suit needed , but with that said I own one and with a simple muffler gut and re tune it woke up and is quite impressive. The only concern for myself would be the air filter , which has worked perfectly up to this point but not sure why exactly but concerns me for some reason .

Cheap ? Certainly not I can assure you the saw is built pretty rugged. Unfortunately I found out the hard way by being complacent and doing a foolish thing "felling in high winds". My options to get out of my stupidity was either take a risky chance and try saving my saw or watch a good size oak squash a brand new saw. Did the latter and was astonished at how well the saw held up . Bent top handle and cracked lower handle was all the damage done to the saw. Replaced both and cutting like a mother once again.

Good saw and if it holds up cant be touched in price to performance comparison .

Nice Work Randy !

The one 600P that I did shocked me more than any saw I think I've ported. I just didn't expect this kind of performance from an Echo! No popup in this one, just a woods port.

What kinda tach is that in the video? Where'd you get it? Is it wireless or is it a clamp-on type?

This site is worse than crack ! First had to go get a 562xp now looks like my 670cs needs to go to camp at Mastermind's !:msp_tongue:
