80cc and up reed ported Macs are best. Dual port muffler 288 is second.

I also have a love for the big 123cc Mac's.
This a geardrive Mac i built using the
797 123cc motor. Saw is pulling 1/2 chipper
chain and pulls it well.

i have it bad guys. i love the sound of my 576xp at throttle, and its simply a freakin beast. i grew up on the homelites though with my dad using mostly bow saws and to this day my ears perk up to the sound of those. ah who am i kiddin. most saws(not all) sound very good to me. my son(almost 3) has caught the bug as well and loves hearing me run my saws while felling and bucking, from a safe distance of course. he even has one of his own...

A few of you have been close, but without a doubt the best sounding saw ever is the McCulloch 1-85. I suppose a 1-75 would sound pretty nice as well, but I don't have one of them, yet.

The 1-85 slap you in the chest like no other no matter where you are standing while it's running.

See what I mean?

There is no way to reproduce the sound with whimpy computer speakers, you will just have to hear it in person to really appreciate it.
