I read this site most every day and every day I find somthing that I wish I could remember later. A moment ago I was reading about chain types in a thread here and got to wondering If I really knew what I thought I knew. ( semi from full chisel chain style) I went to google and searched semi v/s chisel chain and about the third one shown was from A.S. suprise ,suprise.
Anyway I read it and it was great,.... full looks like this ( 7 )...and (semi looks like this ( ? ) I wondered if i had found this or read this on this site how do you save it to your own ...place for lack of a better term , A place where you can reference it when needed.
In laymans terms how do I save the really helpfull info to some place that i can find later on? Thanks Jeff

Copy and paste to a MS Word file, or a similar type of file on your computer.

Click on the "thread tools" at the top of the thread and a drop down box will give you a couple of options. Click "Show printable version" and it will be easier to copy and paste.

And you install pdf creator(free ware!) so you can just choose the "pdf creator" as a printer, then you just "print" the document as a pdf. So no more copy & paste.

HIGH value nugets here!!!

I went to "start" then to "my documents" then I opened a "new folder" named "chainsaw" then in that folder I opened another folder named "hot saws". When I want something I go to "file' under the "back" button at the top and click on "save as" then choose the option in "my documents" then click the "save" box

Yep; all the important stuff I find about everything that has to do with saw's on here and other site's I make a "Word file" and also with pictures I do the same thing in "My Pictures"

I can't even remember where I put my shoes, but you're right about seeing alot of good things here.

Take a pic of your shoes and place them in a folder; and name that folder "My Shoe's" so you'll be able to find them :dizzy:

Yes I will be saving to a desk top file as I see that every day and should be able to re-find it when needed. But I have read here before people say like " yea so I went to my remmington starter palls file and found that info you need here it is ..."
I kind of figured the guy has used some sort of gadget provided on this site to store important info for later reference thats all. I am behind the 8 ball most of the time so I just always assume the smart fellas are doing it ( storing info) eaiser than I do.

If you had a head as big as mine you would remember alot.

What were we talking about again?

Yea I understand,.. Well this puter is using windows 7 and that is diffrent than my puter at work so I kind of hate this thing. It is not like my work one there is no " file" at the top left corner so I cant just click file , send to, mail receipent , and its gone. I can not find somthing cool and send you the page by right clicking. It says windows live is needed and I dont have that i guess. I do not have "word" I have 'Syphony sp " instead. It is not easy to just save somthing with this system or,....I just dont know how to do it.

But for all of you other guys.....

You have a massive air leak, you need to pull the flywheel and clutch, spend $250 for some stuff to do a leakdown test, replace the seals and bearings, still runs squirrelly, find nothing wrong,
replace the flywheel. You don't have an air leak, go back on the forum and post more questions........
Replace the coil, why not????

I just "copy' and then 'paste' the part of the thread I like..in a "Named E-Mail Title" that I choose...

And then send the e-mail to..MYSELF.

Then...I just transfer it to my "chainsaw file"..or my "Stihl" file..!! - in my e-mail account..!!

I was wondering how long that would take to come up. Simplest solution. :dizzy:
The only problem with the saving as a bookmark...is you can run up soo many that they're hard to find..

Is somebody saves a few every now and then..the "bookmark" idea is fine and a little less work than the e-mail.

What..I particularity like about the e-mail is I can NAME it..put it in a file I would go to..and you also have the date..!!
